Lawrence Henry Spencer Rites----Funeral Services at Fairmount Church Tuesday.
Funeral services for Lawrence Henry Spencer were held at the Fairmount Church at two-o'clock Tuesday afternoon conducted by the Rev. Clyde Speaks. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Grigsby singing a duet accompanied by Mrs. Lulu Shattuck on the piano.
Lawrence Henry Spencer, son of Dudley J. and Nancy Spencer, was born on October 31, 1896, near Pleasanton, Kansas and departed this life on February 1, 1948, near Hume, Mo., at the age of 51 years, 3 months and one day.
To this union one son was born, Bernard, who survives. Mrs. spencer preceded him in death in 1944. He is also survived by one sister, Ethel Pryor of Pittsburg, Kansas, two brothers, James R. and Charles C., living on farms in the edge of Linn county, one aunt, Belle Spencer of Pleasanton, one sister-in-law, Fern Spencer of Hume, Mo, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ben, as he was known to all that knew him, spent his entire life in Linn county and will be greatly missed by all his friends.
Pallbearers were Frank Irwin, Charles Atkinson, Vernon Wallace, Herbert Payne and Willie Cooper, interment was in the Littell Cemetery.
