50th Wedding Anniversary

Lawrence R. Keiffer of Robinson and Lulu M. Dougherty of Detroit, Mich, formerly of Robinson were married in Detroit on January 20, 1917, with Rev. Buck of the Presbyterian Church officiating.

The fiftieth wedding anniversary reception will be held in Asbury Hall of the First Methodist Church of Robinson on Friday, January 20, from 7 to 9 p.m.

All friends and relatives are cordially invited. There are to be no gifts, please.

Lawrence R. Keiffor

Funeral services for Lawrence R. Keiffor, Paris, who died Sunday, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Buchanan Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. David Babb officiating. Interment will follow in Robinson Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Lawrence R. Keiffor

Lawrence R. Keiffor, 89, Paris, formerly of Robinson, died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday at Shady Rest Nursing Home, Paris.

Surviving are a son, Raymond Keiffor, Paris; two daughters, Frances Agnew, Kovrvalis, Ore., (Corvallis, OR) and Jeanette Dye, Albany, Ore., a brother, Chester Keiffor, Washington D.C., 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Keiffor was predeceased by his wife Lula in 1973.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Buchanan Funeral Home, Robinson.

Lawrence chose not to go into the family business, but went to college and became an engineer. He worked for GE in Cleveland, OH for most of his working life where he and Lulu raised their children.

After retiring, they moved back to the Robinson area where he enjoyed playing golf, gardening and was quite involved in the Rotary Club.

When he was in college the registrar had is surname spelled Keiffer instead of the true spelling of Kieffer. He tried to get them to change it but finally decided to “just go with it” and used Keiffer from then on, as did his children.
