Lawrence Towneley, Gent. was born circa 1554 at of Barnside & Blacko, Lancashire, England. He married Margaret Hartley, daughter of John Hartley, Gent., circa 1575 at of Stone Edge, Colne, Lancashire, England; They had 6 sons (Laurence, Gent; Charles; Henry; John; Robert; & Thomas) and 2 daughters (Elizabeth & Helen).[1] Lawrence Towneley, Gent. left a will on 5 January 1598.[2] His estate was probated on 19 January 1598.[3]
