Exact naming in Poland was not considered important. Vital records will
often show various spellings of the same name, or different names altogether. The use of the Yiddish, Hebrew, or even nicknames were considered equally valid. This explains a lot of the discrepancies in the records. The records from Ellis Island were filled out at the departure location by people who used the spellings that made sense to them, so again there are many variations and definite mispellings.

As for the use of Joskowna, that means the the daughter of Josk. This shows up frequently, especially the further back you go. In fact,according to a Jewish history of Poland, the patronymic naming system (ex.Abramovitz which means son of Abram, and Abramowna, daughter of Abram) was onlydropped during the German occupation of Poland. The Germans decreed for taxation and control purposes, that all Jews had to register their names including a surname, their address, and their occupation. So this is why so many Jews have German surnames, even though they are not from Germany. This is also why I probably cannot trace my family back further than 1775 because the records show the use of patronymics.
