The family comes from an area within ten miles outside Ostrow,in the state of Lomza, east of Warsaw. The name SADEK or SADICK means "small garden" in Polish.

Per Gene Sadick: Laeb lived in the town of Glushadlo (now spelled Dlugosiodlo), near Warsaw. Laeb was once a rich main who made the mistake of operating a whiskey still, was caught by the authorities, and lost everything to the government. Laeb had children by his first wife, Michle. The son, Yitzchak Hirsch (Samuel Sadick's half-brother) was the grandfather of Harry, Albert, and their cousin Sol. Harry and Albert were born in Glushadlo . They now live in a retirement village, CenturyVillage, in Florida, along with Joe Sadick. Sol, who came tot he US after WWI I lived on a farm near New Haven, now lives in New Haven and spends his winters in Ft. Lauderdale.
