Lee B. Hamlett, 86 formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday Feb. 21 2006, in Mesa, Arizona He was born Oct. 29, 1919 in Elk Township, near Wood, Iowa, son of John and Blanche Beddow Hamlett. He married Florence Thurn on July 7, 1946, in Manchester, Iowa. She preceded him in death, Mr Hamlett served in the Army during WWII and was employed as in inspector for John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo, Iowa, retiring in 1981. Survivors include: two sons, Jeff (Kathy) of Mooresville, NC., and Randy ( Karen) of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) of Anchorage, Alaska, Christopher (Naomi) of West Des Moines, Jeremy (Kristie) of Highland Ranch, CO., Kelly (Andy) Engel of Hudson, IA., and Jordan of Longmont, CO.; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Cole, Cooper and Marley. Preceded in death by a sister, Nona Zearley of Edgewood, Iowa.
