Virginia Argus Newspaper reported in Richmond, Virginia on Apr 29, 1806. Interesting: Lt. Leighton Wood was fined a hefty $3000 and charged for mutiny for not obeying a direct order from a superior Officer to stay at Tavern and for not acting as a proper man in uniform should act- Lt. Wood went home. after a direct order to stay. on Aug 29, 1806, Leighton just went directly home after being at the tavern didn't feel he needed permission to leave on his night off- This was Leighton W.ood III, (his father, Leighton Wood II passed away in London, England in 1805 - he was away in England for a few years trying to work out his father's Estate problems.)
