Lenora N. Wartman

PIERCEVILLE,KS.--- Lenora Wartman,90,died Wednesday,February 3,2016 at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron,Ks. She was born Sept. 26,1925 in Hoisington,Ks to Edmond and Ida Popp Ochs.

On January 30,1942,she married Alvin D."Hoot" Wartman in Garden City,KS. They lived on the family farm near Pierceville,Ks. He died September 19,1971. She also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, an infant brother, five sisters and an infant sister.

A homemaker, Mrs. Wartman enjoyed gardening, yard and lawn work, sewing, quilting, bowling, traveling to various bowling events and was a strong believer in education, earning her G.E.D. in 1969. She was a member of the Pierceville Federated Church, Triple Deck Bridge Club of Ingalls and the Finney County Historical Society.

Survivors include two sons, Jerald Wartman of Ingalls and Lonnie and wife Donna Wartman of Monument,Colo.; two daughters, Judy Wartman of Ingalls and Sandy Wartman of Wichita; two brothers, LeRoy Ochs of Springfield,Mo.,and Walter Ochs of Garden City; two sisters, Wilma Guy of Littleton, Colo and Barbara Petr of BLue Rapids; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral will be begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Pierceville Federated Church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City,KS.
