About Leo Watson
Leo started and finished his schooling in Nampa, Canyon County, Idaho. Leo worked at the Electric Bakery in Nampa. Leo and Mary moved from Nampa to Federal Way, Washington in 1941. They brought two of their children, Richard and Donna with them. Mary's parents brought Carol with them on the train after the family got settled. Leo worked for many years in the shipyards in Washington. He also sold real estate, did clerical work for Tacoma Boat Building Company, and worked at Mt. View Cemetery and Funeral Home. Leo and Mary loved recreational boating on Puget Sound waters. they bought and renovated their first boat in about 1956. Later they had two other boats. After retirement, Leo and Mary sold their home on Wildaire, bought a mobile home in a retirement village in Tacoma, and wintered in Mesa, Arizona. Leo and Mary lived in Tacoma for over 40 years. Leo was raised in the Mormon religion. Leo and Mary were buried at New Tacoma Cemetery in Tacoma (Graves 475 and 476, Lot 1, D, Section 2).
Leo had rheumatic fever as a child which led to heart disease (rheumatic valvular disease) and he had three separate heart surgeries.
