Leonard Strickland, 63, of Sun city, AZ, died Sunday, 9 nov 1980 at a hospital in Sun City.
Leonard was the son of Alva and Bertha Spohn Strickland He was born on 24 Jun 1917, in Floris, IA, and grew to manhood there. He was graduated from the Eldon High School and served as a pharmacist's mate in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He moved to Phoenix in 1955 and later to Sun City.
He was a member of the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City.
He was self-employed as a manufacturing representative for 20 years. He was a member of the Arizona Macs Clothing Association and of the National Association of Women's and Children's Apparel Groups and was a special advisor to the Council of the Bureau of Whole Sales Representatives. He had received several awards in this line of work.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, one son, James and his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Vesta Greiner of Bloomfield, IA and Alice Hughes of Eldon, IA, and one brother-in-law, Millard McGhee of Ottumwa, IA.
