Leonilde Gabbi, also called Leonilda, was an Italian mezzo-soprano, later soprano, who enjoyed a succcessful international career.
She sang between 1882 and 1903 being very active in the theaters of Northern Italy. However, she was very popular also abroad, especially in South America. She was the sister of Adalgisa Gabbi.
Among the works in the repertoire: Don Carlo, Aida, Rigoletto, Nabucco, Othello, La Gioconda. In November 1893 she sang as Luigia at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in the premiere of Vendée by Filippo Clementi. In the end of her career she also sang Wagnerian roles (Brunilde in Valkyrie, Liceu of Barcelona, 1901).
