GREEN, Leslie Kerr - 85, 209 Linden Ave., New Glasgow, passed away suddenly at home September 2, 2002. Born in Sunnybrae in 1917, he was a son of the late Mary Harris (MacDonald) and Henry Green. Leslie worked at Trenton Works during the Second World War, in the gun shop. After the war, he was employed with Fraser, Mason and Fraser. He went with the "Bridge and Building", department of CNR as a carpenter in 1955 and retired from there in 1982. Leslie served as a volunteer fireman in New Glasgow for more than 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He is survived by his wife, Grace (MacPhee); daughters, Faye Haley, Digby; Anne (Grant) Caldwell, New Glasgow; sons, Alan (Betty), Lyons Brook; Paul (Mary), Edmonton; Lee, Nashville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sister, Mary MacKinnon, New Glasgow; brother, Bill, Liverpool. He was predeceased by sister, Norma (Diggins); brothers, Walter, Stanley, Harry and Arnold; granddaughter, Lesley (Roddick). Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
