Leslie was born Nov. 9, 1921, in Garland, Mo., near Clinton. He passed away June 27, 2012. He graduated from Norris High School in 1939. In June of 1940 married Anna Lillian Odell and recently celebrated their 72nd anniversary. They were blessed with two kids, Karen and Billy. While working as foreman at Pratt Whitney, on nine to 14 hour shifts, he missed only two days out of an entire year. He was a Teamster over-the-road truck driver more than 40 years for Middaugh Truck Line and then Roadway, hauling everything from furniture to explosives. He covered every state in the Union and most of Canada without a chargeable accident. From Kittery, Mass., to Pascagoula, Miss., he proudly hauled one of the first US nuclear submarine models. After retirement they owned L & L Enterprises and Middaugh Woodcrafting. He was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Temple, the Northeastern Kansas Bee Association, The Order of Eastern Star, a Mason of Blue Lodge #437 of Overland Park, Kan., a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner of Abdallah Temple of Overland Park, The Ancient Order of Camel Herders, and Antique and Classic Cars, (President 1998-1999). He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, leaded glass, helping others, and gathering with friends and family. Survived by wife, Lily; six grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. He was the hardest working, fun loving, giving man and will be missed greatly. Come celebrate a life well lived on Monday, July 2, at D.W. Newcomer's Longview, 12700 Raytown Rd, KCMO. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and funeral service begins at 11 a.m.
