Jan 7, 1724—Lettice Kerr was born in Augusta County, Virginia. She was one of the first people born in the Shenandoah Valley. She married William Robertson and one of her children, Rebecca, married David White. William and David along with her brothers were all Revolutionary War veterans.
She died 14 July 1775 and was buried at the Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Augusta County. She is pure Scots-Irish ancestry. I can trace her back many generations and she descends from Scottish nobility. Her husband fought at the battle of Point Pleasant in 1774 and a William Robertson was wounded at the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780. I have not confirmed that this is our William, but it probably is. He would have been 60 years old.
Lettice Kerr is descended from the Kerrs of Ferniehurst, from the Campbells of Glenorchy, the Stewarts of Atholl, and the Chiefs of the clan McKay. In America, they were among the earliest settlers of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
