Cousin Tish was a strong woman who lived life to the fullest. From proprietor, to horse trainer, and campaign manager, she excelled at anything she took on. In her later life, she became an accomplished quilter and won awards for her designs.
She touched many lives with her friendship and generous spirit. In 2012 she lost her battle with cancer and will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband Dave Duesler if Big Bear, CA.
She ran a bed and breakfast place on Catalina Island and decided it was way more fun to just enjoy the beach. She dabbled in all kinds of career choices; from campaign manager for a local politician, to hotelier, hospital administration, horse trainer, and artisan quilter.
During the peak of her life, she encountered breast cancer. Her battle ended in Spring of 2012. Even as she struggled with death, she asked if she could make me a quilt. About a month or so before her death, she delivered it in person. She had captured all our favorite things (outdoors, pine trees/cones, rocks and lush mountain landscapes). In the corner she embroidered a message of our friendship. Every time I use it I think of her warm and generous spirit. What a tribute for such a vibrant life.
We will miss her beautiful dancing eyes and smile.
