Harold was the son of Archie S., Sr. and Carrie Lee Locklear Deese. He was a homicide victim.

The following was taken from the Dec. 29, 1974 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Funeral services for Levant Harold Deese, 51, who died Friday will be held today at 3 p.m. from St. Anna Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Montana Locklear, the Rev. Harvey Lowery, the Rev. Richard Simmons, and the Rev. Grover Oxendine officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Deese; a son, Harold of the home; two daughters, Nancy and Mary Deese of the home; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Deese; six brothers, Donald, Archie, Ray, Paul and Bill, all of Pembroke, and Ronald of Atlanta, Ga.; five sisters, Mrs. Averna Bullard, Mrs. Delia Pate, Mrs. Yvonne Parker, and Mrs. Edith Locklear, all of Pembroke, and Mrs. Menerva DePhager of Oconomowoc, Wis.
