Dannie Edward, Sr. was the son of Archie S., Sr. and Carrie Lee Locklear Deese. He was named after his paternal grandfather, Dannie Deese.
He was a World War II veteran. He married Gloria Jones. He was the victim of homicide.
The following was taken from the Mar. 3, 1954 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:
Funeral for Danny Edward Deese, 32, of Pembroke, will be held Thursday at 2 P. M. at St. Anna church. Rev. John Lowry and Rev. James W. Smith will be in charge. Deese died about 7:30 P. M. Sunday.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gloria Deese and two children, Stephanie and Danny Edward, Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Sewell Deese; seven brothers, Harold and Ronald Deese of Detroit, Donald Chesley of the U. S. Army in Korea, and Levant, Paul, Kenneth Ray, Bill James, and Archie Sr. Deese, Jr., of Pembroke; his sisters, Mrs. Glenn Deesinger of Antigo, Wis., Mrs. James F. Chariau of Milwaukee, Mrs. William Edward Pate of Milwaukee; his grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Jacobs; his grandfather, Chesley Locklear; his step-grandmother, Mrs. Ida Locklear.
