BIOGRAPHY: Leaves from Family Bible of Levi Sr & Samuel Grandy in possession of Virgil Grandy grandson of Samuel Grandy, Nora Springs, Floyd Co., Iowa. - Military Service: Served in the War of 1812 (military pension certificate no. 11981) with Captain Asa (or Ephram) Briggs Company in Colonel Jonathan Williams Regiment of Vermont Drafted Militia from 17 Sep 1812 to 30 Nov 1812 (2 months & 13 days) (STATE OF VERMONT ROSTER OF SOLDIERS IN THE WAR OF 1812-14, Prepared and published under the direction of Herbert T. Johnson, The Adjutant General, 1933, page 187). - He enlisted at Burlington, Chittenden Co., NY ? (for about 10 days) then back to Burlington & was discharged. He recieved an Honorable Discharge which was burned with his house & contents about 15 May 1868 in Crawford Co. WI. Copies of Pension & Service Files in possession of Mike, San Jose, CA.
