Mrs. Libbie Laraway, 70, died at her residence, 195 Capital Ave. S.W., where she had lived for the last 27 years, this morning at 5:45 o'clock following a stroke of apoplexy which she suffered last Friday.
Mrs. Laraway, who had been a resident of Battle Creek for the last 40 years, had been ill for about three weeks with influenza, when the stroke came which caused her death.
She was the daughter of Luck and William Blickett who came from England to Leroy Township when they were children. William Blackett, who owned a large farm, became a painter when he retired from farming and was known in Battle Creek and vicinity.
Mrs. Laraway was one of seven children. She was born March 29, 1862 in Leroy township.
For the last 10 years Mr. and Mrs. Laraway had spent their winters in Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome; one granddaughter, Mrs. Herbert Jackson of 195 Capital Ave. S.W.; a son-in-law, Guy R. Barton, of Battle Creek; two great-grandchildren, Berna Claire and Eleanor Lee Jackson and one sister, Mrs. John Lloyd of Leroy township, who is now in Florida. Funeral arrangements will be made later.
