About Lieut Hezekiah Hale McPherson

Hezekiah married Malinda J. Rector of Tennessee on November 14, 1835 in Rockwood, Tennessee. When the American Civil War came, he was commissioned in the Confederate Army as a Second Lieutenant in Company B, 4th Cavalry Regiment, Eighth Division, Missouri State Guard. His son was initially in Company C., and died in the battle of Wilson's Creek/Oak Hills, Missouri, also known as the "Bull Run of the West." The war forced the family to Texas. After the war, he and Malinda tried a return to Linn, Missouri. Post war sentiments resulted in them resettling for a time in Arkansas, and finally Texas again.
