The Revolutionary War Pension File No. 37844 for Uriah Church provides more details of his military service. He was appointed 1st lieutenant on 28 November 28 1775 in Captain Theodore Woodbridge's Company in General Wooster's Regiment. His commission was approved on 15 April 1776 in Colonel Samuel Elmore's regiment. Uriah Church participated in the battles of ST Johns and Quebec and was discharged 18 April 1777 at Fort Schuyler, New York. A pass dated 24 April 1777 at Albany, New York, authorized by Major General Gates, gives the bearer, LT. Uriah Church permission to return to Hartland, Connecticut.

URIAH4 CHURCH, SR., born 20 Feb. 1740, at Lyme, Conn.; died 8 Mar. 1822; son of John3 and Joanna, and grandson of Samuel2 and 8. Susanna3 (Hungerford). They settled in Hartford, Conn.
