During the Revolutionary War he served as a Lieutenant in Capt. Gulick's Company, Third Regiment of Middlesex County Militia in 1780 (William S. He was mentioned as "Farrington Barcalow my brother-in-law" in the will of Elizabeth Reed wh left bequests to his daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah. By the terms of his will, dated Aug. 30, 1817, and proved Oct.9, 1917, he left his estate to his wife during her widowhood, and thereafter it was to be divided equally between his children: John F., Daniel F. (mistakenly called David in the printed abstract), William, Sarah, and Elizabeth. To John F. he left a lot, being part of the lands of Daniel Barkelo, deceased; and to William three lots on the turnpike road and also his weaver's loom. The executors were his widow and three sons.
