He served in the Revolution with Pennsylvania troops from Washington County. [Pennsylvania Archives, vol iv 415, 722] and in 1782, accompanied Captain William Crawford in the ill-fated expedition against the Wyandot and Delaware Indians on the Muskingun; was a purchaser of land at Big Prairie, Ohio, on which some of his children later settled.
On Feb 27, 1786, he took out a warrent for 300 acres of land in Wshington County, on Pigeon Creek, called Agricultura; tehre being two claimants for ht land, title was not defintely settled in Isaac Nwekirk until Nov 3, 1807.
