1663, October 3: Joseph, son of Nehemiah and Hannah (Stanton) Palmer, was born at Stonington, Connecticut.

1706, April 22: His father, "in order to settle his estate, his sons in life and to prevent trouble after he was gone," made out deeds of his property, in which he gave his son, Daniel Palmer, one half of all his lands "at home, where now dwell," with two acres of salt grass to his son, Nehemiah. He gave his son, Joseph, the other half of all the home lands with the provision that these two sons should care for their mother, who was to hold the old house and receive one third of the income from all the farm products; Joseph to own the house where his father then dwelt (Deeds; II:385)

1709, January 9: Joseph Palmer drew his will. In it he bequeathed to his wife, Frances, one-third of the house stuff, one-third part of the lands. Son, Joseph to have the housing; the land was divided between the sons; the daughters, Hannah and Sarah, to receive £10 each; more than his sons.
