Leonard Keid was born 8/10/1886 Ormeau, Queensland; son of Charles George & Mary Elizabeth (nee Dale) Keid. Husband of Eliza Aroy (nee Mitchell) of Louisa Street (off Gladstone Road), South Brisbane, Qld. He enlisted in the AIF on 5/5/1915 and embarked from Brisbane for active service abroad on 5/10/1915 per HMAT "Warialda" (A69). He was killed in the Battle of Mouquet Farm, France, 3/9/1916. 49th Battalion Inscription: Australian Infantry, A.I.F.
