Bennett was born 1893 Pimpama, Queensland; son of Charles George & Mary Elizabeth (nee Dale) Keid. He enlisted in the AIF on 6/5/1915 and embarked from Brisbane on 30/12/1915 for active service abroad per HMAT "Itonus" (A50). He was killed in the Battle of Moquet Farm, Pozieres, France, aged 23 years. 49th Battalion - Service No. #3809 Inscription: Australian Infantry, A.I.F.
