About Littleberry Wright Gwin
Edward Gwin (1799-1874) was involved in a court case involving the contested will of his brother, Littleberry Wright Gwin during the July term of the Carroll Co. Court in the year 1848. The case was:
Ebenezer Wright and wife Vs Edward Gwin and others
The wife of Ebenezer Wright was Elizabeth Gwin, sister of Littleberry Wright Gwin. In this case they were contesting his will because he had made a nuncupative will on his death bed to two of his fellow soldiers in Mexico during the Mexican War, and this will gave his belongings to Elizabeth and not to the other brothers and sisters. Ebenezer and Elizabeth had taken their case to the State Supreme Court and had a ruling there that went against Edward and his other brothers and sisters. The Court ruled in favor of Ebenezer and Elizabeth that the nuncupative will should be allowed in court.
