This Tombstone cannot actually be his, I think it must be for his grandson - I haven't found yet. According to the court papers, his name is Lodovick Tanner. There are other variations of his name. Lodowick may have pronounced his name as Lugwig. Something not written down or found happened, and as a 7-year-old boy he is in the custody of Alexander Marshall Sr and his wife Elizabeth (Worsham) Ligon, the widow of Thomas Ligon. His name is mentioned in court records June 3, 1716 as "Lodo" Tanner, brother of Thomas Tanner.
