Joseph Tanner Jr. married Mary Lewis at 2nd marriage for him. [Evidence?] Joseph Tanner Jr. was born in 1662 at Virginia. He was the son of Joseph Tanner Sr. and Mary Brown. Joseph Tanner Jr. married Ann Floyd circa 1682 at first marriage for him, Henrico, Virginia. Joseph Tanner Jr. married Sarah Hatcher, daughter of Edward Hatcher and Mary Ward, in 1689 at 3rd marriage for him. Joseph Tanner Jr. died before 1698 at Henrico, Virginia.
He left a will in December 1698. On Xber [December] 1st, 1698 Administration was granted Sarah Tanner on her deceased husband, Joseph Tanner's estate with Mr. Allenson Clerk and Mr. Edward Haskins, securities. (Henrico Records 1697-1704, p. 144.) An Inventory of the Estate of Joseph Tanner, late of Henrico County, deceased, taken and appraised by order of Court this
23d day of January 1698-9. [Total of Appraisement] ? 148:16:42. Appraised by virtue of an order of court made this 1st day of Xber 1698 by wee ye subscribers: Tho Edwards, Phill Turpin, Thos Osborne, Seth Ward.
Returned and recorded February 1, 1698-9 as "Presented by Sarah the relict of ye deceased Joseph Tanner and proved by her oath." (Henrico Records, Vol. 1697-1704, p. 134.).

I am assuming this is the Joseph Tanner that had an indian slave. Also, this indian he had, could have been his son.
