Biography

Lois was born on 3 September 1726 in Eastham, Barnstable, Province of Massachusetts Bay, the daughter of Edmund and Lois (Paine) Freeman.[1]

At the age of 17, Lois had a child by Zebulon Young. Their son Philip was born in Eastham on 05 March 1744.[2] It appears that Lois and Zebulon did not marry.

Lois married Jesse Snow on 10 November 1748 in Eastham.[2] He was born on 27 October 1709 in Eastham, the son of Micajah and Mercy (Young) Snow.

Lois Snow and her children Philip Young and Edmund Snow, were named in the will of her father Edmund Freeman of Eastham, dated 09 Feb 1778 and proved 13 August 1782.[3]

The widow Lois Snow's death was noted in the 1790 "Bill of Mortality in the South Parish of Eastham." [4] The Freeman Genealogy gives a secific date of 03 October 1790.[5]

Children of Lois Freeman, first by Zebulon Young, the rest by husband Jesse Snow, recorded Eastham:[6]

Research notes

The following excerpts were taken from the 2019 Brewster Silver Book:

"Philip Young was born in Eastham 5 March 1744, son of Lois Freeman, before her marriage to Jesse Snow. Philip had children with two wives. Philip's father was probably Zebulon Young. See family #369"[7]

"Zebulon was probably the father of Philip Young, born Eastham 5 March 744 to Lois Freeman. Philip married Azuba Higgins.[8]
