Lorna L. Rose, one of four children of Fred and Minna Rose, was born April 30, 1905, in Groton, South Dakota, She died March 26, at her home in Oak, Nebraska, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 26 days.

She attended school in Groton, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in which she took an active part as a member of the Young Peoples Society and singing in the choir. She continued these activities even after moving to Minnesota with her family.

October 17, 1927, Lorna was united in marriage to Elmer L. Anderson in Moorhead, Minnesota, and then moved to Nebraska. To this union, three children were born.

Mrs. Anderson lived in the Oak community all of her married life. She had taken part in many community activities the past years until her health prevented her from attending these activities. Among the activities Lorna enjoyed were those afforded her as a grandmother. She taught her progeny to bake, to raise, and care for pets, and to value their heritage from her.

Lorna entered the Mary Lanning Hospital in September 1960, was transferred to University Medical Center in Omaha in November and then to Eppley Care Center in February, 1981. She returned to her home in Oak with her faithful husband on March 25, and passed away the following morning.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Lavern Newton of North Carolina, a son-in-law. Jack Gillan of Oak; and one granddaughter, Linda Sue Gillan.

Survivors are her husband, Elmer; daughter, Mrs, Jack (Donna) Gillan of Oak; two sons, Elmer Jr, and Irene of Overton and Jerry and Carol Lynn of Deshler; two sisters, Alvina Pedersen of Huntington Beach, California, and Esther Schutte and her husband Phil of Everett, Washington; a brother and his wife, Earl Melba Rose of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren, Barbara Glaser of Omaha, Cheryl Shelburn of Hastings, Terri Oltmans of Nelson, Mike Anderson of Battle Creek, Nancy Judson of Blair, Tim Anderson of Overton, and Gayle Lynn, J. D. and Carrie Lynn Anderson, all of Deshler; and four great grandchildren, Melanie, Amber and Brian Anderson of Battle Creek and Jessica Shelburn of Hastings,

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, from the First Community Church in Oak, with Pastor Chalmers T. Wolcott officiating. Burial was in the Oak Cemetery. Urbauer Funeral Home of Davenport was in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were Alvin Anderson, Harold Snyder, Levonn Peterson, Robert Samsula, Darrell Harrington, and LeRoy Hinz.
