OBITUARY FROM THE RED LAKE COUNTY GAZETTE MARCH 1958: FERDINAND ROSE,77 DIED AT ST JOHN'S MARCH 18
Ferdinand E. Rose, 77, of Plummer died Tuesday evening at St. John's hospital where he had been hospitalized for the past several weeks with a heart condition. Ferdinand Rose was born March 17, 1881, in Germany and at the age of nine came with his parents to Plummer where they homesteaded. In 1901 at James, SD, he was married to Minna Rose. They farmed in South Dakota until they moved to Red Lake County residing in Red Lake Falls and at Plummer where he was employed as a carpenter. Surviving are his wife of Plummer; one son, Earl Rose of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Elmer Anderson of Oak, NE; Mrs. Paul Pederson of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Newton Ward of Princeton, NC; Mrs. Phil Shute of Mt. Vernon, WA; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. John Paasch of Sabin; and Mrs. Ben Johnson of Plummer. He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter and one brother .
