Louisa (68), was found dead with her hands and feet tied, her mouth gagged with paper and socks, on a plot at Roodepoorthoewes at the Platrivier Dam, near Bela Bela (formerly Warmbaths).

Inspector Abbey Makgakge said the police's air wing, dog unit as well as trackers on foot were were searching for the the killers. Louisa died between 11:30 and 12:30. Her husband, Diederik Johannes (Dick) (69), said he had left his wife baking in the kitchen, and when he returned was unable to open the front door which appeared to have been wedged shut and he couldn't find his wife. Through the bedroom window he saw linen and clothing scattered on the floor. Bekker called neighbours for help, they found Louisa's body, fully dressed, lying on the floor.

  • Three men were jailed for life for the murder, Jacob Seloy (22), and Daniël Maseko (27), from Bela-Bela and Elliot Mhlangu (30), an illegal Zimbabwean immigrant, were found guilty of murdering Louisa in her home.
