LOUISA JANE CARTER was born in West Ham on May 29th 1902. She was married in West Ham, 2/1925 (4a 333) to JAMES ERNEST (Jim) NEWMAN, who had been born in Lambeth, Surrey on June 5th 1899. Jim Newman had seen service with the British Army in the latter stages of WW1 and had suffered a head wound, from which he suffered mild fits and bouts of irrational behaviour. He died in Newham 1/1973 (5e 2193), Lou continued to live at 41 Buxton Road, Stratford until her death from stomach cancer in Newham 3/1980 (15 1476). Jim & Lou had two children; 1. JAMES WILLIAM NEWMAN, born in West Ham on May 7th 1926. During the latter part of WWII Jimmy served in the Royal Army Service Corps. He married in West Ham 2/1955 (5a 1238) to ALICE MORGAN and died in Waltham Forest 4/1969 (5e 1081) of kidney failure.It is not known whether Alice is still living (She was still alive in 1995). They had three children; a. ANTHONY JAMES NEWMAN, born in West Ham 3/1956 (5a 762). b. GARY M NEWMAN, born in West Ham 2/1960 (5a 911). c. GILLIAN NEWMAN, born in West Ham 4/1963 (5a 841). 2. JOAN ROSEMARY NEWMAN, born in West Ham on March 3rd 1929 and died in Newham in January 1995. She had married GEORGE WARD in West Ham 2/1953 (5a 1292), he died in the early 1970s, during a routine surgical operation (A George Robert Ward died in Waltham Forest 4/1977 (15 1146), this could be him). Their children were; a. GERALDINE A WARD, born West Ham 2/1957 (5a 769). She married JOHN W FIX in Newham 2/1978 (15 1106). They currently live in Hornchurch and they have two children; i. PAUL JOHN FIX, born Barking & Dagenham 3/1983. ii. JOANNE LOUISE FIX, born Barking & Dagenham Sep 1986. b. KEVIN GEORGE WARD, born West Ham 1/1960 (5a 910).
