About Lourens Daniël Stols
Lourens "Ouboet" Stols (1938 - 2007)
Brief overview:
Lourens (69), a mentally disabled elderly man who "never even wanted to shoot a fly" was cruelly murdered in his house in Wilgerpark, Ventersdorp. Lourens was found dead by members of the police late on Sunday afternoon with several head wounds and electric cord around his neck, arms and legs.
Stols' body was found in one of the bedrooms. He lived with his mother until about 18 months previously,
but had been alone since her death. Ansie Cronjé, Stols' sister who lived in Ventersdorp, last saw her brother on Friday afternoon when she went to take him food.
Nellie Cronjé, Stols' other sister who lives in Hoedspruit, said he was very ill. He had high blood pressure and a heart problem.
