About Lt Col Henry Charles Reynolds, RE
Henry Charles Reynolds, the firstborn son of Maj Gen John Williams Reynolds and Helen Reynolds (born Harvey), was born in Streatham, London on 12 October 1841.
He joined the Royal Engineers as a Lieutenant on 17 December 1862. He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 6 June 1877, and to the rank of Major on 17 December 1882. On 11 July 1883, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
Henry married Sarah Eleanor Baker Goodwyn on 17 April 1877 in St Andrew's in Clifton, Bristol. The service was conducted by Sarah's brother, Rev. Frederick Wildman Goodwyn. Henry and Sarah had five children.
Henry died on 1 May 1899 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. He was buried at St Peter's Church, Leckhampton.
