Horace Lloyd Captain Horace Lloyd Northampton 1913

Commissioned Jan 1903 from the Lancashire Fusiliers having served with them in South Africa from June 1901 to July 1903 gaining the Queens South Africa medal with clasps for Transvaal, Orange Free State & Cape Colony and the Kings South Africa medal with 1901 and 1902 clasp.

He went to India with the 1st Battalion from March 1903 to June 1905 and again from March 1906 to Oct 1906. Saw service in North Nigeria from Nov 1908 to Nov 1911 being promoted to Captain in Aug 1910. Appointed Adjutant of 1st Battalion in March 1912.

Went to France on 13th Aug 1914 with 1st Battalion Head Quarters still as Adjutant. Wounded in the ankle Sept 10th 1914 during the advance to the Aisne. Transferred to General Staff July 1915, back on the General list March 1916. Born at Cheadle, Cheshire on 27/4/1882 and educated at Uppingham School.
