Gershom was killed in a Battle with Indians.

He was the son of Thomas and Mary (Unknown) Flegg.
About 1668 Gershom went to Woburn as a tanner and lived in the centre of the village,<ref name="Wardlow"/> On April 15, 1668 he married Hannah Leppingwell in Woburn. <ref>Torrey, Clarence Almon, New England Marriages Prior to 1700, Genealogical Publishing Company, Inc.</ref> In 1671 he was found in a Census (earliest mention) in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, On May 27, 1674 "He was admitted Freeman by the General Court at Boston..."<ref name="Wardlow"/><ref name="North"/>"
Lieut. Gershom Flegg<ref name="Descendants"/><ref name="North"/>was killed July 6, 1690 with Wiswall, his Captain, and others bythe Indians in a battle at Wheelright Pond (now Lee), Strafford County, New Hampshire. <ref name="North"/><ref name="Wardlow"/> His probate was 26 JAN 1690/91 in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts<ref name="Wardlow"/> Gershom and Hannah had 8 children who lived beyond birth [5 sons +2 died at birth) and 3 daughters]::1 Gershom Flagg, Jr. (b. 10 Mar 1668/9; d.1755 per Torrey, Clarence Almon, U.S., New England Marriages Prior to 1700, p270). His children were: Elizabeth, Gershom, Zechariah, Gershom (again), Joseph, Benjamin.:2 Eleazer Flagg b. Aug 1, 1670; was a Colonel and Magistrate; m. 17 Jan 1694/5 to Esther Green. He died July 12, 1726; widow Esther d. 18 Sept 1744, aged 70 yrs. They had one child: Esther b. Oct 17, 1695. :3 John Flagg b. May 25, 1673. :4 Hannah Flagg b.
