Ichabod Sheffield was born on 6 Mar 1670 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island to Ichabod Sheffield and Mary Parker Sheffield.

Ichabod served on two Coroner's Jurys, the first on 25 Aug 1692 and the second on 9 May 1697 both in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island. [6]

By 1714, they were living in Kingstown, Rhode Island. He served in the militia as a Lieutenant of the Kingstown Company in Feb 1714 in Kingstown, Rhode Island. He later served as a Justice of the Peace in June, 1717. In 1723, Ichabod Sheffield became the first Town Treasurer in South Kingston. He owned a considerable amount of land in South Kingston. [6]

Kingstown, Rhode Island was divided into two in 1723 creating the new town of South Kingstown. The first town meeting of South Kingstown was held in Ichabod Sheffield's house. [6]

Ichabod Sheffield and Elizabeth Manchester were married on 27 Dec 1694 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island. Elizabeth Manchester was the daughter of William Manchester and Mary Cook of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. [1]

Ichabod Sheffield II died before 4 Jun 1736 at the age of 66. His will was proved on June 4, 1736. Jeremiah Sheffield was named the executor for the will of his father Ichabod Sheffield II on 4 Jun 1736 in South Kingston, Rhode Island.
