Lieutenant John/4 Lamson (John /3, John /2, William /1), was bom at Ipswich, Mass., Nov. 4, 1698, and died there July 5, 1774. He married Elizabeth Day, dau. of John and Elizabeth (Cue) Day. (Int. of m. Dec. 2, 1722.) She was bapt. 7/22, 1705; died Feb. 5, 1779, at Topsfield, Mass.
Lieutenant John Lamson was a farmer and lived in Ipswich, Mass. Several families living in Ipswich wanted to be annexed to Topsfield, but the Town of Ipswich opposed their petitions. (Hist. Essex Co., Mass., Vol. II, p. 973.) At last they asked the General Court to grant their request, which was finally granted, Feb. II, 1774, when it ordered that the families of Joseph Cum- mings, John Lampson, Israel Clark, Joseph Cummings, Jr., John Lamson, Jr., and Thomas Cummings, with their lands and build- ings, be set to the town of Topsfield.
John Lampson of Ipswich, gent., made his will July 20, 1763, and it was proved July 25, 1774. His wife, Elizabeth, was to have the use of the lower room of the east end of the house, etc. He mentions his children Elizabeth Goodhue, Ruth Bradstreet and John Lampson, who was to have the residue and be executor. His son Robert was not mentioned in his will.

March 6, 1747, at Ipswich, Mass.; m. Daniel Dane. (5) Ebenezer, b. at Ipswich, Mass., 1754; m. Sarah Potter. (6) Ephraim, b. Jan. 16, 1757- (7) Priscilla, m. Samuel Safford. (8) Abner, b. Jan. 18, 1762; m. (i) Sarah Collins; m. (2) Elizabeth Dodge; m. (3) Frances Bott. (9) Eunice, b. March 4, 1764. (10) Daniel, b. Aug. 27, 1769.

108 Ruth /5, b. at Topsfield, Mass., Feb. 7, 1733/4; d. July 25, 1777, m- Samuel Bradstreet, son of Samuel and Sarah (Clarke) Bradstreet, on April 5, 1763; he was b. March 8, 1729 ; died July 7, 1779. Their child was: (i) Ruth, b. March 8, 1767; m. Billy Emerson.
