Biography
Note: The John Wilson, Jr. who married Alice Tatman in 1748[1] was Lt. John Wilson's grandson.[2] The Vital Records of Billerica can be very confusing in that regard. In those records, Lt. John Wilson is called John Jr., his son is called John 3, and his grandson is called John Jr. again. Lt. John named several of his children after his siblings, and seven of the grandson's eight children have the same names as Lt. John's children.
Lt. John Wilson, son of John, was born 3 Jan 1673 at Woburn, Massachusetts,[3] but spent most of his life in Billerica. He married Elizabeth Foster at Woburn on December 3, 1691. Elizabeth was born at Billerica, Massachusetts on October 7, 1673. Her parents were Deacon Joseph Foster and Alice Gorton.[4]
Their children were:
John, born 26 Dec 1695.[5] Elizabeth, born 8 Nov 1697.[6] Joseph, 21 May 1699.[7] Joanna, born 6 Jan 1701/02.[8] Alice, born 12 Nov 1703.[9] Jacob, born 22 Jan 1704/05.[10] Sarah, born 17 April 1706.[11] Mary, born 21 Jan, 1707/08.[12] Esther, born 29 Jan, 1709/10;[13] died 28 Feb 1728/29.[14] Dorcas, born 2 Dec 1711.[15] Seth, born 14 Nov 1713.[16] Benjamin, born 18 Sep 1715.[17] Rebecca, born 19 Jun 1717;[18] died 11 Mar 1728/29.[19] Marriage
