Luella Jean Rote, also known as Luella Rote Lloyd (her married name), and as Lui (her nickname), was born 2 Jul 1921 in Sandusky, Eire County, Ohio, USA, to Galen Weiker Rote and Lulu Craun. She died 17 Jan 1999, in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, USA. She was survived by her husband and children.

Luella married Winston Dale Lloyd on 29 Nov 1957 while on a boat in international waters between the USA and Canada. Subsequently, there was a second ceremony on January 18, 1958 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, USA.

Luella and Winston had three children. The oldest two, a girl and a boy, are both still living. The youngest, Craig Winston Lloyd, died 30 July 2010.
