About Pamela D Lloyd

A CRLA level 1 certified tutor, I tutor English and math at Pima Community College, where I assist students with reading, writing, ESL, and pre-algebra. Previously, I've taught career development (study skills and job hunting skills) at Tucson College in Tucson, Arizona.

I love teaching and tutoring. I think these are the best jobs in the world, as they allow me to help students understand the strengths they have, so that they can not only be the best students possible, but also continue to grow and develop their skills and competencies throughout their lives.

I am a freelance writer, editor, and web designer. A generalist, I've done editing and proofreading, technical writing and editing, marketing copy writing, and fiction writing. My career as a technical writer and editor includes over a decade working primarily within the computer software field.

My writing career also includes fiction writing, which I've been working on for much longer than my nonfiction and technical writing. I've had a few short stories published. Most of my fiction is either science fiction or fantasy, although I occasionally stray into other genres. To learn more about me as a writer, visit my website, A Writer's Space: Pamela's Place.

I'm also interested in genealogy. We are all part of one big family, so I look at everyone I meet as a member of my extended family. My favorite genealogy site is Geni.com because of the collaborative nature of the site, and their efforts to help us find the connections between ourselves and everyone else; we truly are one big family. I also enjoy following their blog and finding the connections between famous personalities, especially writers, and myself; of course, you may be even more closely related to me, or to one of these famous people. That's the fun of being part of the World Wide Tree.
