Rev. Lura Ann Denton, born in Lee County, Kentucky on June 15, 1912, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2000.
Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John W. Deton. Together, they served as ministers in the Phoenix area for over 35 years starting in 1945. They pioneered a television ministry in the 1960's known as "Songs Over The Desert."
Mrs. Denton is survived by a son, Jack Denton, her daughter, Jeannene Henry; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a church family stretching across America.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 200 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Chapel, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. A graveside service will he held on Friday, April 14, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale.
