Elizabeth Leonard

If the birth date of 1579 is even close to accurate, she IS NOT the daughter of Richard White III and Mary Plowden White. Mary Plowden was *not yet married* when her father died in 1585 - he left provision for her dowry in his will, but did not specify the amount. (Her brother Edmund set it at £1000 before he also died in 1587.)

She might be Sir Richard's daughter by "unknown mother"...however, Wales is a long way from Essex, so it's unlikely that anything as permanent as marriage was involved.

Disputed Origins==There is a lot of misinformation on the internet about the Leonard family of New England. No link to any armigerous family for this line of Leonards or Whites has been validated.

Biography ==Elizabeth White's birth location, date, and parents are unknown. The only source identifying her surname is the account of her grandaughter Hannah Leonard Deane.<ref> Deane, William Reed. LYDIA ELIZABETH WHITE was born 23 May 1587, of Pontypool, Monmouth, Wales, to Charles White (1570-1633) and Alice Warburton (1570-) She married Thomas Leonard in about 1609, of Pontypool, Wales.

Lydia White passed away in about 1638, of Pontypool, Monmouth Wales, at about age 51. She had seven sons and 5 daughters!
