Biography

Lydia Cushman, child of Elizabeth (Coombs) Cushman and Eleazer Cushman, born at Plymouth, Plymouth, Plymouth Colony, 13 Dec 1687, [1] [2] was a descendant of Mayflower passenger Degory Priest.[2]

Lidia married John Waterman at Plympton, Massachusetts, 29 Dec 1709, according to the records.[2][3] However, this is believed to be an error since a daughter was born Nov 1709 and should be 1707 or 1708.[2] John was born at Marshfield 23 Sep 1685, son of John and Ann (Sturtevant) Waterman, and died at Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts, 8 Jun 1761 in his 76th year.[2]

John's will, written 21 Mar 1748, and proved 3 Aug 1768 named his wife Lydia, sons Joseph, Peres, John, Anthony, and Eleazer and daughters Sarah and Lydia.[2][4]

Lydia Waterman died at Halifax 7 July 1771 ae 82 y 6m.[2][5] No probate was found in Plymouth County.
