G m Märta Arvidsdtr (Drake), d 1606, dtr to Arvid Drake o Brita Persdtr (Hard of Segerstad).

During the Russian war, from January 1556, KH first operated ice in Finland and was then ordered to Viborg. Already in the summer he was released and returned to Sweden. In Sunnerbo he handled the diversity of tasks of a border officer, but was soon subjected to suspicion of being involved in intrigues against Gustav I and relaxed. His name under the assurance of allegiance to this 1560 indicates that the relations were again good.

In Erik XIV's service, KH made a significant military effort on various fronts during the Nordic Seven-Year War. In November 1563 he was ordered to defend the West Göteborg border with feared Danish attacks with three flags and two Phoenicians and to invade Halland where possible, where he plundered in Jan 1564. Still in the spring he was, most recently under Gustav Olofsson (Stenbock), remained in Västergötland but was ordered in the summer to Småland to assist Charles de Mornay in meeting Daniel Rantzau's attack. He must retire at the end of July for a Danish attack at Tofta bridge. Later in the year he took part in the king's ravaging train to Blekinge and was spent some time with a troop force in the landscape, from where, however, in the autumn he must retreat to Kalmar.

In the spring of 1565, KH as a field marshal under Field Colonel Nils Persson (Silversmith) defended the small country border against the Danes, but in August Erik's order was made to try to cut off the retreat for Rantzau, which then fell into Västergötland. As head of a detachment of four flags and seven Phoenicians, he participated in the conquest of Varberg. By destroying the bridge over the Etran, he succeeded in blocking Rantzau's train to the north. His detachment was joined by the main army shortly before the battle of the Axtorna, where he fell.

KH owned land in Västergötland and Småland. He inherited from his mother Attorp in S Säms sn (Älvsb), which he gave his wife in the morning gift. Shortly before his death he received Hagelsrum in Målilla sn (Kalm) in salvation donation. His genealogical notes are printed in PHT 1901 (cf. JE Almquist in SoH 1958-59). His tombstone in Gällstad church (Älvsb) is of historical interest.

Drake af Hagelsrum, släkt, by the Swedish Biographical Dictionary

Drake af Hagelsrum, frälsesläkt, en utgrenirig av ätten Hand (se denna). Field Colonel Knut Håkansson's (Hand) son with Märta Arvidsdotter (of Västbo-Drakarna, see genealogy. Above) the governor Arvid Knut's son Drake (d. Trol. 1618; see below 1) received 26 Nov. 1574 K. permission to take the mother's name Drake; although he himself usually also carried the Dragon weapon, his relatives kept the ancestral weapon (hand). Of his sons are the governor Knut Drake (d. 1639; see below 2) and the governor Hans Drake (d. 1653; see below 3). The son of Knut D. was Major General Erik Drake (d. 1673; see below 4), the son of Hans was again the infamous one! the pirate Gustaf Drake (d. 1684; see below 5). Knut D:'s older son and Erik D:'s brother the captain (in a letter from the Riksdag in 1676 called Major) Magnus Drake (b. 1616, d. 1693) served during the Thirty Years' War 1633-37 in the German regiments in Swedish service, among others. a. under Field Marshal A. Leslie, but must return home for injuries that particularly injured his arms. As a great landlord, he took a prominent position in Ydre, was enterprising and successful, took up new plantations, built roads, donated to the parish church Sundi and maintained the parish's poor. His sons Captain Hans Leonard Drake (b. 1663, d. 1722) and Lieutenant Carl Magnus Drake (d. 1739; see below 6) became the ancestors of two still living main lines of the family. Both members lived for a long time mostly as rural lieutenants, and the older line was particularly attached to Ydre härad (Ög.). "In Ydre ... I then had the honor of becoming acquainted with Bockar, Ulfvar, Räfvar and Drakar, gentlemen of mediocre ambition and thoroughness of mind, as well as among the oldest families", wrote Eric Benzelius in 1732. The older line included HL D's great - grandson's son the musician Professor Erik Drake (d. 1870; see below 7). The younger line included CM D's great-grandchildren's educator Gustaf Axel Ludvig Drake (d. 1893; see below 8) and Baptist Magnus Adolf Gottlob Drake (d. 1906; see below 9), who were weddings.

The older line D. also included Professor E. D.'s nephew's son, the pharmacist in Hälsingborg, Gustaf Drake (b. 1877, d. 1939), mainly known as a Linnaeus researcher. He has published a large number of writings, mostly of pharmacological-medical-historical content about Linnaeus, and thereby performed an important and meritorious work for the medical-historical Linnaeus research. Bl. a. may be mentioned his useless overview «Linnaeus' disputations» (1939). DG purchased and supplemented a large family archive concerning the family D. af Hagelsrum, which archive according to his wishes was handed over after his death to Uppsala University Library 1940 (27 vols., Sign. X 257 d: l and follow.) He has in connection for this archive also prepared a typewritten genealogy, «The gamble Dragons» (eg in the National Archives and Uppsala University Library). Some documents from family D:

In marriage to Knut Håkanssons (Hand ; bd 18) niece daughter Märta Jönsdotter (Oxehufvud) he became the father of Linnorm R (1569-1627). This is mentioned among Johan III's court people in 1592. Duke Karl used him as the messenger of letters to Sigismund after his return to Sweden in 1598. R was therefore in the latter's camp during the battle at Lilla Stångebro, where he halted with a fictitious command from Sigismund his noble fan's attack. Several letters from Karl testify that at least March was R linked to Sigismund's still barely nine-year-old and already sickly half-brother Duke Johan(vol. 20). From 1603 he is mentioned as his court master, and according to Norrköping Parliament's decision 1604, like his brother R1, he was one of the four noblemen who would assist Johan with advice and deed. In 1605, R became his commander in the Eastern Gothic Duchy of Vadstena Castle County, where from 1606 he is mentioned with the title of governor, and in 1608 Johan authorized him to be governor of the entire Duchy. In 1612 he became a lawman in Östergötland, and from the autumn he calls him in his letters (E 5156) advice and governor. After Duke Johan's death in 1618, R again became governor only in Vadstena castle county, but in 1621 his area was expanded to include the whole of Östergötland. In 1623 he became a council, and like his uncle Boo R, he was among the envoys at the border meeting with the Danes in 1624. R:
