About M A Damodara Menon

Born as the youngest son of late L.N.Madhavi Amma & V. Aundy Pillai., he lost his mother, at an young age. Completed his " Vidyakalanidhi " Diploma from Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. Was an active member of the arts club & had enacted in few dramas there. After completing " Vidyakalanidhi ", set up a vidyasala , attaached 2 " Sreekrishnavilasom Matom ", the then residence of father Aundy Pillai. He joined private coaching class, imparting coaching 4 Madras Matriculation ( Equivalent 2 present S.S.L.C.)examination and came out with flying colors. The medium of instruction was English, 4 this course. As a hobby, he used 2 write short poems & articles in the

malayalam magazines like " TAGORE ". He had a flair 4 writing & was a connosieur of carnatic music. He set up a Vaidyasala, by the name " BRINDAVANA VAIDYASALA " attached 2 the residential building & imparted Ayurvedic Treatment. A tooth powder by the name " Brinda Tooth Powder " was also produced & marketed in a small scale. The Vidyasala was there till he got married to Janaki Amma of Karuvatta & shifted his

place of activity 2 Karuvatta ( a village -place, about 18 miles south of Alapuzha ). At " Mavelil " , Karuvatta also, Ayurveda practice was continued ----- under the supervision & guidance of Kesava Kurup Vidyan ( father in law).There, lives of many poor and downtroden was saved from Jaundice, with special " Nasyam " treatment.with a panesea --- All free of cost. This was continued till he fell ill & reached the heavenly abode.
