Mrs. Margaret T. Whelan, 97. of1320 N. 14th, died at 8 PM, Sunday (November 23, 1980) in St. Mary Hospital, where she had been a patient since November 9, 1980.
Mrs. Whelan was born in Stoutville, Missouri, August 28, 1883, a daughter of John and Katherine Woods Conley. She married Daniel Richard Whelan December 25, 1901, in Stoutsville, Missouri. He died January 26, 1958.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Richard Edward of Redondo Beach, California; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Kieker, Mrs. Bessie Newberry and Mrs. Edwin (Carrie) Altgilbers, all of Quincy, Illinois; two brothers Robert Conley of Dixon and Edward Conley of Perry, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Alba Riley of Quincy and Mrs. Birdie Conley of Perry, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Ira and Benedict; a brother; two sisters; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9:30 AM, Wednesday in Duker Funeral Home and at 10 AM in St. John Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetary.
