He was the son of Philip Pendleton Dandridge and his first wife Caroline, born in Jefferson County, Virginia, probably at the Dandridge home, "The Bower", make a note; on the 1850 census it's stated as Maryland being his birth state. He was a student when he enlisted in Company F, of the 2nd Virginia Infantry as a private. He was discharged August 6, 1861, no reason given. Assigned Cadet company F, 9th Virginia Cavalry, October 30, 1861. Assigned to staff of General W.H.F. Lee, October 15, 1863. Promoted to Lieutenant of Infantry, organization not stated, March 3, 1865. Post war engineer. He died in Baltimore, Maryland.
